Jorge used the off-white coloring of the horses and of their environment as inspiration in the color processing. The Camargue region has a calm serenity feel which contrasted nicely with the wild nature of the horses. He wanted a monochrome color palette that wasn’t black and white. Instead, he used tones of warm white to get the monochrome look.
He purposely overexposed the image to create a more white out effect to help capture the mood and character of the moment.
